Cost of an experience

When someone achieves something socially valuable, we often say, ‘Congratulations.’ It’s a moment of recognition, a brief acknowledgment that they’ve ‘made it’—at least for now. But beneath the surface, a deeper question often lingers: Was it worth it?”
Anything or everything worth achieving in life requires a lot of effort, sacrifices, lost time and what not. In fact a lot of achievements require continuous effort to sustain them, even an item as simple as Car requires continuous investment of time, effort, money to maintain it. Relationships are even more costly affair, they need regular high effort engagement to sustain and keep them valuable.
The cost of anything in life is way more than we anticipate or imagine before going for that wish, and only one who has achieved can know the true cost, that too if one is completely aware. So whether you want that big house, a perfect partner, a high paying job or something else, remember the cost is always more than you anticipate.
How do we decide than if it was worth or not, that’s where relative nature of life comes and helps us.
Say you want a fancy vacation at an exotic place, think before going for it, what all you can acquire if you avoid this ? If after the consideration the answer is still that vacation, go for it. At least you have made an informed choice, not a compulsive one, and you will be much more at peace with the outcome.
Cost of any experience in life is way more than we can anticipate or understand, so think well before you wish, it might come true, just not in the context or at the cost you were willing to pay.
